Mr. Randy Henderson Jr. has been a Fort Myers resident for 35 years, and serves as the city’s mayor. After earning a degree in business administration in 1979, he started his career in banking and worked his way up to a vice president position. Since 1986, he’s served as CEO of the family-owned real estate firm Corbin Henderson Company. He is a board member of the Lee County Horizon Council, a private-public economic development partnership seeking to improve the local business environment, retain and encourage the expansion of existing businesses, and attract new and diversified employers.
Mr. Tom Taylor is the CEO of Hole Montes, Inc., a full service engineering firm with offices in Naples and Fort Myers. Under Taylor’s direction, the company has provided civil engineering services to both the public and private sectors with customers including the City of Fort Myers, City of Cape Coral, Lee County, Collier County, the City of Naples, the City of Sanibel, the City of Bonita Springs, the City of Sarasota and Sarasota County. Taylor has served in leadership roles in many organizations across Southwest Florida, including as a trustee for CREW Land & Water Trust, an Advisory Council Member for the U.A. Whitaker College of Engineering at Florida Gulf Coast University and a trustee for the Greater Naples YMCA. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Moorings Park Institute. The Greater Naples Chamber also honored him as the 2013 Public Policy Volunteer of the Year.
Mr. Jon H. Outcalt is founder and Chairman of Federal Process Corporation, a privately owned manufacturer and distributor of retail and industrial products, and specialty chemicals. Previously, he was founder and Chairman of NCS Healthcare, Inc., a publicly owned distributor of pharmaceuticals, and Senior Vice President of Alliance Capital Management L.P., a global investment management company. He has served as a director of several public and private companies, and of numerous non-profit organizations. He is currently a trustee of ideastream, the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation, Playhouse Square Foundation, the Steffee Family Fund and University School. He is a graduate of Trinity College (BA) and the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School (MBA).
Jon C. Bruss is the Founder, CEO and Managing Principal of Fortress Partners Capital Management, Ltd. He is one of the most respected investors and strategic advisors in community banking. Jon invests in publicly-traded micro and small cap banks and thrifts across the country. He has nearly 50 years of experience in commercial banking, finance, and investment banking. He organized and managed Town Bankshares and Town Bank, which were sold in 2004 to Wintrust Financial Corp. In 1992 he formed Fortress Bancshares, which acquired three banks and was, in turn, acquired by a publicly-traded bank holding company, Merchants & Manufacturers. It was acquired by BMO Harris. Jon worked as an investment banker with Blunt Ellis & Loewi and as President and CEO of AgriStor Credit Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of A.O. Smith Corporation, a Fortune 1000 company where he later served as Vice President of Corporate Finance.
Mr. A. Malachi (Mal) Mixon, III retired as Chairman of Invacare Corporation (NYSE: IVC) in December 2014 where he was Chief Executive Officer for 31 years. Mr. Mixon continues to serve on the Invacare Board of Directors and also serves on the board of Park-Ohio Holdings Corp (NASDAQ). He has been instrumental in the start-up and restructuring of many Ohio companies, including STERIS and Royal Appliance (maker of the Dirt Devil vacuum). He is Chairman Emeritus of the Board of Directors and Board of Trustees of The Cleveland Clinic Foundation, having served as Chairman for 13 years, and Chairman of The Cleveland Institute of Music. Mr. Mixon was co-founder of MCM Capital Partners, LP, a Cleveland leveraged buyout company, and started MWV (Minorities with Vision) Pinnacle Capital Fund, LP to invest in minority-owned small businesses. An Oklahoma native, Mr. Mixon is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Business School. Between obtaining his two degrees, Mr. Mixon served four years as an officer in the Marine Corps, including a year in Vietnam. He recently authored a book entitled, “An American Journey”.
Dr. Kenneth W. Plunkitt is currently the President and CEO of Naples Heart Rhythm Specialist, PA in Naples, Florida. Dr. Plunkitt maintains a consultative practice with an emphasis on implantation and interventional arrhythmia management. Dr. Plunkitt is Board Certified in cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology and is a member of the American Medical Association, the Heart Rhythm Society, the American College of Cardiology and the American College of Physicians. Dr. Plunkitt graduated Summa Cum Laude from Campbell University in North Carolina, before receiving his Doctor of Medicine from the University of South Florida. Dr. Plunkitt also completed his residency and fellowship in cardiology at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida.
Mr. James T. Humphrey is of counsel with the law firm of Knott Ebelini Hart in Fort Myers, FL. Mr. Humphrey’s practice is primarily in the area of government, administrative, real estate, and land use law. He is counsel to the Lee Memorial Health System Board of Directors, a public body, and counsel to the Lee County Industrial Development Authority. He also serves as Trustee of Hodges University and was a Director of Fifth Third Bank Florida. Mr. Humphrey is the former Mayor of the City of Fort Myers.
Mr. Theodore Etzel is currently the Chairman of the Board of Encore Bank. Mr. Etzel is also currently the CEO of Conditioned Air Corporation of Naples, Inc. Mr. Etzel has been with Conditioned Air since 1995. Mr. Etzel’s background is in economics and business development and he is also a writer on business management topics and sits on the editorial advisory board of HVACR Business Magazine. Theo enjoys mentoring other small business leaders in growing and improving their business. Mr. Etzel is Chairman of the Board of Directors for The Grace Place for Children. Mr. Etzel is a graduate of Stetson University with a B.S. in Economics and Finance.
Mr. Thomas Ray is currently the Chief Executive Officer and President of Encore Bank. Mr. Ray has 30 years of experience in the banking industry, during which time he held senior executive and lending positions with First Union (Wachovia), Barnett Bank of SW Florida and First Florida Bank. Mr. Ray holds a B.A. in business administration and finance from Florida State University and an M.B.A. from the University of South Florida.
